Configure Expression

After selecting an expression in the Expression Assistant, you will be guided through configuring its operands. Each expression has specific rules and actions that dictate how operands can be added, deleted, or rearranged.

Steps to Configure Expression

  1. Add Operands

    • A + icon will appear in the header of the Expression Component if the expression allows multiple operands,

    • Click the + icon to add a new operand field so you can input values or reference other expressions.

The + icon will be hidden if the expression has a fixed number of operands.

  2. Delete Operands

    • Each operand will have a delete icon next to it, allowing you to remove operands when needed.

    • Click the delete icon to remove the operand from the expression.

If the expression requires a minimum number of operands, the delete option may be disabled.

For example, expressions like Sum that need at least two operands will disable the delete icon when only the minimum required operands are present.

  3. Sort Operands

    • In expressions where the order of operands matters, you can reorder them.

    • Use drag-and-drop functionality to rearrange operands. This is important for operations where order affects the outcome, like subtraction or division.

If operand order is irrelevant to the expression, this functionality will not be available.
